Oscars Nominations 2025: See the Full List Here

Nominations for the 2025 Academy Awards are here. They were announced at an event hosted by Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang at the academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater. See the full list of nominees below.

The musical film Emilia Pérez scored 13 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Original Score, and two for Best Original Song. Not far behind is A Complete Unknown, James Mangold’s Bob Dylan movie featuring a freewheeling and Oscar-nominated Timothée Chalamet; the singing, dancing, finger-squeezing Wicked adaptation starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo also performed well, with both lead actresses scoring nominations. The Brutalist, Brady Corbet’s architectural epic with a score by former Yuck frontperson and first-time Academy Award nominee Daniel Blumberg, also had a good showing.

Elsewhere in the music categories, Dianne Warren will seek her first Academy Award (for the Six Triple Eight song “The Journey”), but she’ll have to go against Elton John and Emilia Pérez songwriters Camille and Clément Ducol, Black Pumas’ Adrian Quesada (“Like a Bird,” from Sing Sing), and others.

This time last year, Barbenheimer dominated the Oscars nominations, with the dual release event of cinema executives’ dreams securing 20 nominations collectively. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer went on to sweep the 2024 main event, winning Best Picture; Best Director; Best Leading Actor for Cillian Murphy; and Best Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr. Poor Things, another major contender that year, earned Emma Stone the Best Leading Actress award. In the music categories, Ludwig Göransson won Best Original Score for Oppenheimer, while Billie Eilish nabbed Barbie its sole statuette for her Best Original Song “What Was I Made For?”
