Pilot Phraseology Workshop slated — General Aviation News

“Stand by,” “Go ahead,” “Hold short,” “Monitor…”

Sound familiar? Pilots and controllers must have a strong understanding of aviation’s unique language to communicate clearly and ensure safe flights.

That’s led the FAA to schedule a live Pilot Phraseology Workshop on May 31, 2025, at 2 p.m. on Zoom and YouTube.

Aviation experts, including commercial, business, and general aviation pilots, flight instructors, and air traffic controllers, will discuss common phraseology mistakes, and ways that pilots and controllers can work together to ensure clear and effective communication for safe takeoff and landing, according to FAA officials.
