From 5 March onwards, customers traveling in Economy and Premium Economy Class on SWISS long-haul flights will enjoy a new on-board experience that is aimed squarely at all their senses.
The airline’s new ‘SWISS Senses’ concept promises a totally revamped long-haul air travel experience that extends not only to product innovations and new service features but also to a redesigned cabin interior.
In an initial step, SWISS Senses brings an expanded inflight food and beverage offer together with new-look comfort features such as bedding items and a new signature fragrance, all to make the customer’s air travel an even more enjoyable experience.
As part of its new ‘SWISS Senses’ inflight product concept, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will be providing its Economy Class customers with a new long-haul air travel experience from 5 March onwards.
The innovations extend to the full on-board offer including the inflight service, the food and drink selection and various comfort items. In addition to newly devised meals and an expanded beverage range, the new concept also provides new amenities to further enhance guests’ comfort and enjoyment aloft. SWISS’s Premium Economy Class customers will also benefit from the innovations, thanks to the company’s extensive investment in both travel classes.
“One of our biggest-ever service investments”
Once their flight has reached cruising altitude, SWISS Economy and SWISS Premium Economy guests will now be served a welcome aperitif, initially accompanied by a fine Sbrinz cheese appetizer, in a nod to Switzerland’s ‘apéro’ culture. Further culinary enjoyment aloft is offered by several new main-meal creations. And the pre-landing meal, which has also been upgraded, will now be served on a tray or in a re-usable bento box.
On some flights, the crew will further offer some additional food between the meals; and all guests will have an extended range of snacks at their disposal. SWISS will also be offering a broader selection of beverages that include a new Swiss red wine and typical Swiss soft drinks such as Rivella. All SWISS Economy meals will be served on modern black re-usable tableware.
“These new product and service highlights will tangibly enhance the air travel experience for our Economy Class and our Premium Economy Class guests,” says SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Heike Birlenbach. “Taken together, they represent one of the biggest service investments in the history of our company. And they bring us a further step forward in providing our customers with a quality air travel experience that is hallmarked by both Swissness and a devotion to detail, to help ensure that we consistently achieve our high premium aspirations.”
Expanded amenities for a relaxed travel experience
‘SWISS Senses’ is SWISS’s new long-haul air travel experience which is designed to appeal to all the various senses. On the sense-of-smell front, customers can now sample the signature fragrance of Alpine Valley, which has been created specifically for SWISS in collaboration with the Zurich-based Soeder company and will be available in the lavatories in soap, hand lotion and facial spray form. Alpine Valley combines aromatic larch with fresh citrus notes and subtle hints of herbs to bring a little Swiss alpine nature aloft.
Customers can look forward to some restful sleep, too, thanks to new bedding with soft pillows and blankets that are made entirely of recycled materials and will also fit excellently into the future SWISS Senses cabin design. The headphones have also been enhanced to provide a quality audio experience that will enable guests to enjoy their inflight entertainment to the full.
In addition to its new service features and its product innovations in all travel classes, the SWISS Senses concept also extends to new seats and new cabin interiors nose-to-tail throughout SWISS’s intercontinental aircraft fleet. So, all SWISS customers can look forward to a totally new long-haul air travel experience that truly appeals to all their various senses.
