Qantas plans to launch Jetstar flights to Manila and Cebu

Qantas is planning to expand its reach in the Philippines via its low-cost subsidiary, Jetstar Airways.

The Australian flag carrier intends to launch flights between Perth Airport (PER) to Manila International Airport (MNL), and Brisbane Airport (BNE) to Cebu International Airport (CEB).

In a letter addressed to the International Air Services Commission, Qantas’ Executive Manager for Policy, Industry and International Affairs Anna Pritchard proposed that both routes be operated three times weekly using its fleet of Airbus 321neos configured with 232 seats.

Qantas is seeking allocation of 696 seats per week from the International Air Services Commission and unrestricted capacity on the Philippine route.

The letter, dated March 20, 2025, has also been published on Facebook by Australian-Filipino media outlet The FIlipino Times.

The carrier aims for full utilization of both flights to Cebu and Manila by February 8, 2026, to be utilized by Qantas, Jetstar, or any other Australian airline owned by Qantas.

Qantas currently operates a combined 11 flights per week to Manila from Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport (SYD) and Brisbane Airport.
