Resurrection’ Casts Bryan Lillis in Guest Role (EXCLUSIVE)

Bryan Lillis has been cast in a guest star role in “Dexter: Resurrection,” Variety has learned exclusively.

Lillis will play Ryan, a guest staying at the Empire Hotel in the upcoming continuation of the “Dexter” franchise. He joins previously announced guest stars David Dastmalchian, Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, and Eric Stonestreet.

Lillis is known for his roles in films like “Promising Young Woman” as well as for appearances in shows like “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “Shining Vale,” and “9-1-1.” He is repped by Framework Entertainment and Gray Talent.

Michael C. Hall is returning as Dexter Morgan for “Dexter: Resurrection.” He will be joined by Uma Thurman as Charley, David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera, with James Remar as Dexter’s father Harry Morgan and Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater.

Production is currently underway in New York and the series is set to launch in summer of 2025 on Paramount+ with Showtime.

Clyde Phillips, the original showrunner of “Dexter,” created “Resurrection” and returns as showrunner and executive producer. Hall will executive produce in addition to starring. Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns also executive produce, with Marcos Siega serving as producing director. Monica Raymund is set to direct four episodes with Siega directing six. Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios produce.

Most recently, it was announced that the prequel series “Dexter: Original Sin” had been renewed for a second season. Patrick Gibson plays Dexter in that series, with Hall providing voiceover narration as Dexter’s inner monologue.
