Richard Siklos Exiting UTA as Chief Communications Officer


UTA partner and chief communications officer Richard Siklos is leaving the agency.

UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer informed staff of Siklos’ departure in a Tuesday afternoon memo obtained by Variety, writing, “I wanted to share the news that our Partner and Chief Communications Officer Richard Siklos is leaving to pursue new opportunities. Over nearly three years, Richard has reimagined how we tell the UTA story globally as we’ve rapidly moved into new business areas and expanded our footprint into the UK and Europe. He helped us navigate through a remarkable period of transformation for UTA, leading the communications strategy across multiple acquisitions, launches, business issues, and executive appointments. He deepened our relationships with key press, upgraded the comms team, and elevated all the ways we tell our stories – and celebrate our many wins – both internally and externally.”

“Richard has stayed on with us for a transition period while the search has been underway for his successor, and we will be making that announcement soon,” Zimmer continued in the memo. “I want to thank Richard for his many contributions to UTA as we wish him the best on his next chapter, and we’ll keep you updated on his successor.”

Before UTA, Siklos spent several years as the head of U.S. communications and corporate communications for Netflix. He previously served as vice president of strategic communications and corporate affairs at Time Warner Inc., when the company owned Warner Bros., CNN and HBO. Earlier in his career he worked as an award-winning business journalist, writing for publications such as Sunday Telegraph, The Times of London and The New York Times. He also served as a media editor at Business Week and editor-at-large at Fortune magazine.

“I am grateful to Jeremy Zimmer, David Kramer, and Jay Sures for everything we accomplished over the last three years,” Siklos said of his departure. “I came to UTA at a pivotal period in its global growth and transformation and was fortunate to build and work with an extraordinary communications team. While I have decided it’s time for something new, I remain in awe of and inspired by UTA’s Partners whose dedication, tenacity and passion for artists and artistry is unbounded.”
