Robert Pattinson Went Crazy on Set Until Zendaya Told Him: Say The Lines

Robert Pattinson is starring opposite Zendaya in A24’s “The Drama,” and if it wasn’t for her then he might’ve lost his mind over one particular scene. Speaking to French publication Premiere (via IndieWire), Pattinson said that Zendaya helped him get out of his head by telling him to just say a line and to stop obsessing over what the hidden meaning of their scene might be.

“We had a scene together that was driving me crazy,” Pattinson said. “I was desperately looking for its meaning, writing pages and pages of textual analysis. I ended up calling Zendaya the night before shooting the scene. I shared my doubts with her, I spoke for two hours, and after a while, very calmly, she made me understand that the line just said what it meant to say, that there was no hidden meaning. And there I was going crazy for three days.”

“The Drama” is directed by “Sick of Myself” and “Dream Scenario” helmer Kristoffer Borgli. Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but Pattinson and Zendaya reportedly play a couple whose relationship takes an unexpected turn before their big day. The film reunites Borgli with A24 after the Nicolas Cage-starring “Dream Scenario.”

Pattinson has apparently been losing his mind a lot on film sets as of late. He told GQ earlier this month that he nearly had a mental breakdown over a dance scene he had to film with Jennifer Lawrence during the making of Lynne Ramsay’s upcoming psychological drama “Die, My Love.”

“I did this movie with Lynne Ramsay, and she’s a really good dancer. And Jennifer Lawrence is a really good dancer. They just find it so easy,” Pattinson said. “They’re like, ‘Just dance, it’s just music playing, just dance,’” Pattinson said. “I was like, ‘I’m going to have a mental breakdown when this happens. We need to either choreograph it or cut it.’ And they’re like, ‘No, just dance, stop being all freak.’ It came to the day, and I was sweating so much, the insides of my trousers, with sweat, were wet.”

Neither “The Drama” nor “Die, My Love” have release dates yet.
