Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), the flag carrier of Scandinavia, has announced an expansion of its global network by extending its codeshare agreement with Air France-KLM, providing more travel choices to customers.
For the first time ever, SAS passengers can now fly to Fortaleza and Salvador de Bahia in Brazil, as well as Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa, the airline announced on February 26, 2025.
SAS said that travelers can book flights to these new destinations, along with an increasing number of codeshare routes across Europe and beyond.
“Our partnership with Air France-KLM continues to unlock new opportunities for our travelers, and we are thrilled to now offer our customers a trip to Fortaleza and Salvador de Bahia for the first time ever,” said Paul Verhagen, Chief Commercial Officer at SAS. “This is just the beginning – our list of codeshare destinations will continue to grow, enhancing connectivity and convenience for both SAS’ and our partners’ customers.”
This codeshare expansion adds to an existing codeshare agreement with Air France and KLM in Europe and to/from Tokyo. SAS signed an Alliance Adherence Agreement (AAA) with SkyTeam Alliance in April 2024.
With this expansion, SAS now offers extended connectivity from and to Scandinavia, including new destinations in Asia such as Osaka and Bangkok, several new destinations in Brazil including Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Fortaleza, and Salvador de Bahia, as well as Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa.
