SAS to launch first-ever Scandinavia-South Korea route

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) to launch its first-ever regular direct route between Scandinavia and South Korea.

SAS announced that the new route will connect Copenhagen and Seoul starting from September 12, 2025. The service will run four times a week during the summer season and three times a week in winter, using an Airbus A350 aircraft.

Connecting Scandinavia with South Korea “will complement SAS’ network reach and strengthen Copenhagen’s role as a gateway for intercontinental travel,” the airline stated.

Additionally, the route will meet the increasing interest of travelers from South Korea wanting to explore Scandinavia, while providing connections to the rest of Europe.

“This new route highlights our commitment to meeting customer demand and enhancing connectivity between two dynamic regions,” Anko van der Werff, President & CEO of SAS, said. “Seoul, renowned as a global center of culture, innovation, and business, is a strategic addition to our growing network. As a proud SkyTeam member, this route further strengthens the seamless connectivity we provide, linking Scandinavia to key destinations across the globe.”

This new route is subject to final governmental approval. With the launch of a route to Seattle in May 2025, SAS will offer 14 intercontinental destinations from Copenhagen, connecting to over 100 destinations across Europe.
