Eve Air Mobility and Signature Aviation have partnered to develop ground infrastructure and services for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
The companies will work together to establish procedures and an ecosystem to prepare for the launch of eVTOL operations, according to Luiz Mauad, Eve’s vice president of services, operations solutions, strategic design & ecosystem.
According to Derek DeCross, Signature’s chief commercial officer, the new collaboration will help create a ground infrastructure for eVTOL aircraft.
The partnership combines Eve’s expertise as an eVTOL manufacturer with Signature’s global network of 200 FBOs.
Key initiatives of the partnership include:
Researching ecosystem requirements for ground operations.
Developing ground services necessary for safe, efficient, and scalable Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) operations.
Exploring potential future commercial partnerships.
Integrating Eve’s urban air traffic management software, Vector, into Signature’s operations.
Vector is designed to address the air traffic and network management challenges of AAM operations, according to Eve officials by supporting “reliable, efficient, and scalable fleet and vertiport operations.”
Eve also recently launched Eve TechCare, a suite of aftermarket services for eVTOL operations. This includes technical support, MRO services, parts and battery solutions, training services, and flight operation solutions.
Eve’s eVTOL aircraft uses eight propellers for vertical flight and fixed wings for cruise flight.
