NBC has added a long list of A-listers to the its upcoming celebration of the 50th anniversary of “Saturday Night Live.”
Among the guests to be featured on “SNL50: The Anniversary Special” are Adam Driver, Ayo Edebiri, Bad Bunny, Dave Chappelle, John Mulaney, Kim Kardashian, Martin Short, Miley Cyrus, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Pedro Pascal, Peyton Manning, Quinta Brunson, Robert De Niro, Sabrina Carpenter, Scarlett Johansson, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks and Woody Harrelson. More guests will be announced in the coming days.
The anniversary special is the culmination of several months of special programming throughout Season 50 of “SNL.” In the fall, NBC aired “A Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving” and “A Saturday Night Live Christmas,” two-hour specials highlighting some of the show’s most famous holiday sketches. A four-part documentary about the show’s history titled “SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night” debuted on Jan. 16 on Peacock. Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson directed another documentary called “Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music,” which focused on prominent musical guests and sketches from over the years and aired on Jan. 27.
“SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” will take place on Feb. 14 at Radio City Music Hall with a livestream on Peacock. Jimmy Fallon hosts the concert, which will feature artists including Arcade Fire, Backstreet Boys, Bad Bunny, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Brittany Howard, Chris Martin, David Byrne, DEVO, Eddie Vedder, Jack White, Jelly Roll, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Mumford & Sons, Post Malone, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Robyn, The B-52s, The Roots and more.
“Saturday Night Live” was created by Lorne Michaels, who executive produces via Broadway Video.
