Taiwanese carrier Starlux Airlines has deepened its commitment to long-haul expansion with a firm order for 10 additional Airbus A350‑1000 aircraft at the Paris Air Show. The purchase brings their total A350‑1000 orderbook to 18 jets, signalling a major strategic push.

With this additional batch of A350‑1000s, Starlux bolsters its fleet of ultra-long-haul jets to support intercontinental routes, including its recently announced route to Phoenix, United States. The delivery is expected to start from 2031.

“This marks a significant milestone in strengthening our global presence and connectivity across key markets,” Starlux CEO Glenn Chai emphasized. “With Airbus’s ongoing support, Starlux will continue to offer excellent passenger experience.”

Chai also hinted that Starlux may launch its first European destination in 2026, marking a new phase in its international expansion.

Starlux Airlines operates an all-Airbus fleet, currently comprising 13 A321neo, 5 A330-900neo, and 8 A350-900 passenger aircraft as of early 2025. Their order backlog includes 6 additional A321neos, 3 more A330-900neos, 2 A350-900s, and 8 A350-1000s. The first delivery of the latter is expected by the end of 2025.

On the cargo side, Starlux has committed to 10 A350F freighters, with the second batch of five confirmed in January 2025.
