Meliá Hotels International is making significant strides in its expansion goals for the year with the signing of a new exclusive luxury hotel in the heart of Argentina’s capital.
By 2025, The Meliá Collection, a brand known for its exquisite luxury hotels with a unique legacy, will add Casa Lucia to its portfolio.
The hotel will be housed in the historic Mihanovich Building, located in one of Buenos Aires’ most artistic neighbourhoods.
Meliá Hotels International, Spain’s leading hotel company, is expanding its presence in Latin America with the signing of an exclusive luxury hotel in Buenos Aires. Casa Lucia, the newest addition to The Meliá Collection’s curated portfolio of distinctive hotels, will open its doors in the iconic Mihanovich Building, located in the vibrant Retiro neighborhood of the Argentine capital. This will be the first hotel in Latin America under The Meliá Collection brand, as the company continues its commitment to growth and to introducing its finest brands, with the goal of offering a high-value hospitality experience.
Architecture and history will be central to Casa Lucia, a member of The Meliá Collection, which has recently undergone a thorough refurbishment. The hotel will feature 142 rooms, drawing inspiration from Argentina’s golden age to pay homage to the building that will house it, completed in 1928. Casa Lucia will preserve the sophistication and elegance of the Mihanovich Building while seamlessly integrating modern touches to celebrate the cultural heritage of one of Buenos Aires’ most brilliant eras.
With its unique luxury concept, the hallmark of The Meliá Collection brand, Casa Lucia will blend the most exclusive hotel experience with art and culture. Its location in the Retiro neighborhood, renowned for its architecture and art galleries, offers the perfect setting for guests to immerse themselves in both the destination and its local cultural essence.
Casa Lucia will offer guests a unique connection to the city through a carefully curated cultural program that will enhance the luxury experience. The hotel will invite both visitors and residents of Buenos Aires to explore the city in a new way with and exclusive cultural offer. Through carefully selected activities, the hotel narrates a unique experience, creating an itinerary that connects guests to Argentina’s golden age, the Belle Époque porteña. These activities will also highlight the surrounding environment, where art takes center stage.
On the gastronomic front, Casa Lucia, a member of The Meliá Collection, will feature a restaurant offering the finest cuisine, as well as a bar that is set to become a social hub for Buenos Aires, with a thoughtfully curated menu of signature cocktails.
Additionally, Casa Lucia will boast wellness spaces, including an indoor pool and a full spa, creating a sanctuary dedicated to well-being in the heart of the city. With the best and most exclusive treatments, guests will have the option to indulge in a relaxing session or maintain their fitness routine in the fully equipped gym.
The hotel, which reopened its doors last year following a complete refurbishment, is now part of the Meliá Hotels International portfolio. It will officially join The Meliá Collection as Casa Lucia in approximately one month, once it has been fully adapted to the brand’s standards and attributes.
With this new opening, Meliá Hotels International is accelerating its growth in Latin America, particularly in Argentina, where the company already operates 5 hotels, with 2 more in pipeline.
