The Social Hub is set to open its first hotel in Porto – Portugal’s first hybrid hospitality venue and the latest milestone in the group’s rapid expansion.
This new €60 million, 11,200sqm multi-purpose four-star hub is designed to connect travellers, digital nomads, young professionals, and locals in a dynamic community. The launch also brings 30 new jobs to the city. The Social Hub Porto, which opens this Saturday, March 1 is located in Bonjardim, the heart of the city’s vibrant cultural scene. The Porto launch increases The Social Hub’s portfolio to 20 across 18 European cities – with Lisbon also on the horizon.
Design
The new hub seamlessly combines contemporary design with nods to Porto’s rich cultural heritage as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Social Hub Porto features 310 rooms, including 271 hotel rooms and 39 residential apartments with up to two bedrooms catering to travellers, extended-stay guests, and students.
Amenities include a state-of-the-art gym, over 580 sqm of inspiring coworking space for nearly 100 local professionals, and 450 sqm of premium meeting & event spaces – including an auditorium that can accommodate more than 250 guests – creating a dynamic environment for networking, innovation, and entrepreneurship. A large interior courtyard garden open to all also brings a new green space to the city centre.
Dining
The Social Hub Porto will add to the city’s renowned culinary scene with a dining experience inspired by Portugal’s vibrant cuisine and traditions:
A full-service restaurant reimagining Portuguese cuisine with petiscos-style plates (small bites), family-style sharing dishes, and a curated selection of organic wines.
A rooftop cocktail bar offering craft cocktails, bites and panoramic views.
A café serving specialty coffee from local roaster Combi, alongside quick counter-service favourites like pastel de nata, open-faced sandwiches, and fresh salads.
Community
The Social Hub, recently recognised with B Corp status, is designed to foster community and create meaningful social impact. Through partnerships with local organisations and experts, the hub will host more than 200 community experiences annually, ranging from cooking classes, professional skill-building programs, vintage markets, to cultural initiatives; all open to locals, travellers, students and coworkers.
The hub will also host scholarship recipients from the Group’s TSH Talent Foundation, which empowers changemakers facing barriers to opportunity. Additionally, the local community will gain access initiatives like the Better Society Academy, designed to equip individuals with the skills, knowledge and networks needed to drive positive change.
