Sheryl Crow and LeAnn Rimes will join “The Voice” as “mega mentors,” helping prepare the remaining Season 27 contestants for the playoffs, which begin April 28.
Crow will join coaches Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé, while Rimes (who is a coach on the British and Australian versions of “The Voice”) will team up with John Legend and Adam Levine.
Each coach enters the playoffs with five artists per team, while Crow and Rimes will lend their expertise as music superstars to help the contestants gear up for their most high-stakes performances yet. The coaches will then choose two artists from their team to advance to the live shows.
“The Voice” airs on NBC on Mondays at 8 p.m. and streams on Peacock the next day. The four-time Emmy-winning singing competition series is the network’s most-watched alternative series.
Crow is a nine-time Grammy winner and holds a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. She has hits ranging from “All I Wanna Do” and “Soak Up the Sun,” and her first nine albums have sold 35 million copies worldwide.
Rimes is a two-time Grammy winner and has sold more than 48 million units globally. She won best new artist at age 14, making her the youngest solo artist to take home a Grammy. Her songs include “Can’t Fight the Moonlight” and “How Do I Live.”
“The Voice” hails from MGM Television and Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon and ITV Studios. The series was created by John de Mol, who serves as an executive producer along with Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher and Barry Poznick.
