Talk about a star-packed Oscar Week.
The days and nights leading up to Hollywood’s biggest event of the year began this time around with the NAACP Image Awards and SAG Awards on Feb. 23. Just a couple of nights later, most of the nominees of the 97th Academy Awards gathered at the Academy Museum for the annual class picture. While most walked the arrivals carpet solo, Cynthia Erivo, Demi Moore and Zoe Saldaña hugged and posed together for photographers. (The class photo is usually taken during the Nominees Luncheon but the afternoon soiree was canceled due to the Southern California wildfires.)
At the same time, across town, Nicole Kidman and Olivia Munn were among the honorees at Time’s Women of the Year dinner at the West Hollywood Edition hotel.
Talking with Variety, Kidman gave an update on the much-anticipated sequel to “Practical Magic” with Sandra Bullock. “Moving ahead rapidly,” the “Babygirl” star teased, but declining to offer any other details. “You could ask Sandy,” Kidman laughed.
On Wednesday morning, first-time Oscar host Conan O’Brien had some fun laying on top of the unfurled red carpet before joining producers for the official rollout at the Dolby Theatre.
