Two LATAM planes suffer bird strikes this Saturday within 50 minutes

Two LATAM Brazil planes suffered bird strikes within 50 minutes on Saturday (April 5) while landing at São Paulo’s Guarulhos Airport.

Both aircraft landed safely, but LATAM warned that such incidents significantly disrupt operations—causing delays, cancellations, extra maintenance costs, and safety risks.

The airline reported 513 bird strikes in Brazil in 2024 alone and urged improved wildlife control near airports.
