Just days before the curtain rises at the Paris Air Show 2025, Franco-Italian turboprop maker ATR has already notched a major commercial win.
UNI Air, the regional subsidiary of Taiwan’s EVA Air, signed a firm order on June 10, 2025, for 19 ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft, with options for three more, marking what ATR says to be the largest single order it has received since 2017. Deliveries are expected to take place between 2027 and 2032.
UNI Air fleet renewal and expansion
The new aircraft will gradually replace and grow UNI Air’s existing fleet of 14 ATR 72-600s. The updated models will be equipped with new-generation PW127XT engines, an improved cabin layout, and an advanced Air Management System to enhance fuel efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and improve passenger comfort.
“This marks a major step in UNI Air’s strategy to enhance domestic air services,” said Solomon Lin, Chairman of UNI Air. “With this new order, we are reinforcing our commitment to ensuring a young and modern fleet to serve the domestic market efficiently, offering passengers the highest standards of comfort and reliability.”
Supporting Taiwan’s domestic air network
Operating primarily out of Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA), UNI Air connects 11 destinations across Taiwan, including outlying islands such as Kinmen, Penghu, and Matsu. These routes are crucial for providing year-round access to communities that rely on air transport due to limited alternatives.

The airline plays an important role in maintaining Taiwan’s domestic connectivity, linking remote regions with larger domestic and international hubs and contributing to the country’s broader transport ecosystem.
