Vivild Falk Berg Set to Star in Norwegian Drama ‘Nepobaby’ for TV2

“Nepobaby,” a new Norwegian drama from TV2, has cast “Pørni” actor Vivild Falk Berg in the lead role.

Berg will play Emma, a working-class 25-year-old who discovers she’s actually the daughter of a Norwegian shipping magnate.

“The news comes as a shock, and even more surprising is that she has been named in his will, inheriting a large portion of the family business,” reads the logline. “But the inheritance comes with an even greater revelation – four siblings she never knew existed.”

Emma’s siblings will be played by Nicolai Cleve Broch (“The Sandhamn Murders”), Henriette Steenstrup, Kristin Grue and Helle Ryg Eia.

The show was created by actor and showrunner Henriette Steenstrup and Siri Seljeseth. “Living with privilege can skew your sense of reality, and massive wealth can throw even the most down-to-earth person off balance,” said Steenstrup. “‘Nepobaby’ aims to tell a bold, funny, exciting, and heartfelt story about how money impacts our family, relationships, and identity.”

The six-part series, which comes from producers Eldorado Content Club and co-distribution partners Oble and Nordisk Film Distribution, is set to premiere on TV2 in Norway. It has also pre-sold to RUV in Iceland. Nordisk will distribute in the Nordic territories with Oble taking the rest of the world.

“’Nepobaby’ is the perfect blend of quality drama and wit, centered around an endearing and relatable character that will lead viewers to question themselves on what they’d do if they inherited a fortune or won the lottery – would their core values and identity change or remain the same?” said Katia Sol, Oble co-founder. “We were instantly seduced by Eldorado Content Club’s pitch.”

Jes Brandhøj, director of sales at Nordisk, added: “‘Nepobaby’ uniquely captures the clash between social classes by offering an intimate glimpse into the privileged world of the elite through the eyes of someone from a different background. The narrative intricately balances humor and drama, providing a fresh and compelling perspective on life and the complexities of family dynamics.”
