The Scott Seaplane Base (1WA) has been established on Osoyoos Lake near Oroville, Washington.

Officially designated by the FAA, the new facility provides enhanced access to one of the region’s most scenic waterways, expanding opportunities for recreational and commercial seaplane operations, according to officials with the Aviation Division of the Washington State Department Of Transportation.

The base, positioned near the U.S.-Canada border, features two designated waterway landing zones: Runway 15W/33W, with an expansive 10,000-foot by 500-foot surface area, state officials added.
