Longtime producers of the James Bond film franchise, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, received Honor Oscars at the most recent Governors Awards, and the 2025 Academy Awards celebrated tonight (March 2) with special performances by Blackpink’s Lisa, Doja Cat, and Raye singing some of its iconic songs. Watch a replay below.
After The Substance actress Margaret Qualley led a James Bond-themed dance routine, Lisa sang Paul McCartney & Wings’ classic “Live and Let Die” from the 1973 spy film while women in evening gowns and suit-clad dancers spun around her. Lisa joined in on the choreography herself, dancing along while hitting each note of the theatrical number.
Cameras panned to another section of the stage for a tradeoff to Doja Cat, who glittered in an appropriately diamond-encrusted gown while covering “Diamonds Are Forever” by Shirley Bassey, as written for the 1971 James Bond film of the same name. As she neared the end of her excerpt, Doja Cat leaned back while belting out the final notes.
Raye sang the final performance of the tribute medley, tackling Adele’s moody song “Skyfall” from the 2012 movie starring Daniel Craig, while orange embers rose behind her on the screen and morphed into rings.
Leading the nominees at the 2025 Academy Awards are Jacques Audiard’s cartel musical Emilia Pérez, with 13 nominations, followed by Brady Corbet’s epic drama The Brutalist and the silver-screen redux of the Wicked musical, both with 10. James Mangold’s Timothée Chalamet–led Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown and papal thriller Conclave were close behind with eight mentions each.
