Wequassett Resort and Golf Club Announces the Final Phase of Multi-Year Renovation Ahead of Centennial Celebration

$12 Million Transformation To Commemorate 100 Years of Cape Cod’s Iconic Resort.

In celebration of its upcoming 100th anniversary, Wequassett Resort and Golf Club, Cape Cod’s premier luxury destination, proudly announces the second phase of its extensive, multi-year renovation. Following the successful first phase completed last summer, the entire project represents a $12 million investment to ensure Wequassett continues to offer unparalleled five-star experiences. This next phase focuses on the refresh and renovation of 113 guestrooms, villas, and cottages, with completion slated ahead of the summer 2025 high season.

Led by Boston-based design firm Reider & Co., the guestroom renovations are inspired by the natural beauty of Cape Cod, aiming to create spaces that feel casual yet refined and elegant. The design reflects the coastal surroundings, with calming materials such as grasscloth wallcoverings, sheer drapery, and linen textures, all contributing to a luxurious and layered look. The color palette incorporates subtle nautical elements, blending seamlessly with the resort’s timeless seaside charm.

The guestroom designs aim for a residential feel, with custom-made furniture throughout, evoking the warmth of a home away from home. The Signature Suites stand out with softer colors and sophisticated patterns like houndstooth and plaid, while the Villas and Cottages offer a more casual, relaxed vibe. All bathrooms are being renovated with new finishes and fixtures, with the Signature Suites receiving elevated lighting upgrades. Select Villas and Cottages will also undergo tub-to-shower conversions, further enhancing the guest experience.

In addition to the aesthetic upgrades, the resort is enhancing the overall guest experience by focusing on the distinctive features that make each accommodation type truly unique. Villas range in size from 350 to 375 square feet, providing a cozy yet luxurious retreat for those seeking a quiet, intimate escape. The Signature Suites offer more expansive options, ranging from 400 to 550 square feet, while the Round Cove Suite is the resort’s largest accommodation, offering an impressive 1,000 square feet of elevated luxury.

Each accommodation is designed with comfort in mind, featuring fireplaces in Iris and Forsythia rooms as well as Signature Suites and H-Frame rooms, including double-sided fireplaces in Signature Suites 43 and 45. Signature Suites will receive new tile in the entryways and around the fireplaces, and the Round Cove Suite will feature new wood flooring in the entryway. Additionally, guests can expect wet bars in a selection of H-Frame rooms (2, 6, 3o, and 34), with all other rooms offering a dry bar and a mini-fridge.

The Cottages offer their own unique appeal with sizes ranging from 350 to 625 square feet. The Lavender, New Dawn, and Morning Glory cottages are approximately 425 square feet, while the Iris and Forsythia cottages provide 350 square feet of comfort. The Greenbrier cottages vary slightly in size, with the largest cottage, the Tulip Cottage, offering 625 square feet, perfect for families or small groups.

The Villas and Cottages also feature a range of sitting areas. Villas include a dining and work table with upholstered chairs, a lounge chair, and in some rooms, a sleeper sofa with a coffee table and ottoman. The same goes for the Signature Suites, with some offering separate living areas. The Round Cove Suite boasts a separate area, two sofas, a dining table for six, and a desk.

The bathrooms across the resort are being completely refreshed with new finishes and soaking tubs. For example, the Signature Suites’ bathrooms will be remodeled with new soaking tubs with tile surrounds, and the H-Frames will be remodeled with new tiled tub surrounds.

Guests can also look forward to a striking watercolor mural, designed by Reider & Co. for The Outer Bar’s focal wall, inspired by the surrounding water views. Public spaces like the pool area and the fine-dining restaurant, twenty-eight Atlantic, will also receive thoughtful updates to further enhance the guest experience.

The first phase of the renovation, completed in early summer 2024, included updates to the main lobby, signature dining venues, twenty-eight Atlantic and Outer Bar, meeting rooms, and the redesign of eight private poolside cabanas in collaboration with Sister Parish. Additionally, the resort introduced three new suites in the Hydrangea Cottage by Palm & Prep, bringing new energy to the property while maintaining its signature Cape Cod charm.

Visitors planning their 2025 stays will be welcomed into these newly revitalized spaces, where classic Cape Cod charm meets contemporary luxury, ensuring both new and returning guests enjoy an unforgettable stay.
