Barely a year after releasing Ten Fold, Brooklyn singer-songwriter Yaya Bey is returning with another new album: Do It Afraid arrives June 20 via Drink Sum Wtr. The quick follow-up includes the new singles “Dream Girl” and “Wake Up B*tch,” the first of which comes with a music video. Check out both songs below.
Do It Afraid steps into a more dance-heavy direction in Yaya Bey’s catalog, as captured in the previously released single “Merlot and Grigio,” featuring Father Philis. Other guests on the album include the rapper and songwriter Rahrah Gabor, the producer Exactly, jazz ensemble Butcher Brown, and vocalist and keyboardist Nigel Hall.
After the album’s release in June, Yaya Bey will head out on a headlining tour of the United States. Following a set at Governors Ball Music Festival, the R&B singer will make stops in Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, Seattle, and more cities before wrapping up the short leg on September 27 in Los Angeles. Find her complete list of tour dates below.
