YOTEL London City undergoes renovations to public spaces
Having opened in 2020, YOTEL’s first central London property located in Clerkenwell is undergoing renovations to its public spaces, emphasising the brand’s commitment to continually innovating and investing in the guest experience.
Scheduled to be completed in April 2025, the works will improve the guest journey through the hotel and generate operational efficiencies, as well as refresh interiors to create spaces that reflect the needs of today’s modern traveller.
In Mission Control (reception area), a more intuitive check-in process will be created with an additional self-service station that will allow more guests to check in and check out in under a minute, as well as select add-ons or upgrades. The layout will be altered to allow Mission Control crew to better interact with guests and ensure a more efficient guest experience.
In its bar and lounge Revolve, new furniture and flexible layout will create dynamic spaces for guests to work, for casual meetings, post-work drinks and semi-private areas available to hire for events, appealing to hotel guests and local residents and workers.
The design narrative draws inspiration from the hotel’s locality while staying true to the YOTEL brand. Colours, textures and materials reflect Clerkenwell’s heritage as the centre of watch making and the exploration of horology – the study of time and the art of measuring it. For example, timber furniture represents watch workshops, circular shapes and curves are akin to watch faces and the use of mirrors reflect a moment in time. The narrative embodies the YOTEL guest, who values time and efficiency, while requiring a place to stop.
